Harold Eugene Lientz

CHRISMAN — Harold Eugene Lientz, 76, of Chrisman, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Paris Community Hospital.

Harold was born May 28, 1935, in Chrisman to Bernard and Esther (Cornwell) Lientz.

He graduated from Chrisman High School in 1953 and married Jeanetta Jane Fear on Feb. 1, 1957.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1958-1960. He returned to Chrisman, where he worked in the grocery business for 42 years and managed the Chrisman IGA.

Harold always put others before himself and was active in the community as a member of the First Baptist Church, the Chrisman Area Community Club and as a dedicated fan of the Chrisman Cardinals basketball teams. He also enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, University of Illinois sports and gardening; and he especially loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Allen Lientz.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb.17, at Krabel Funeral Home in Chrisman. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Chrisman First Baptist Church or the Chrisman Public Library, in care of the funeral home.
