DANVILLE —
Rachel Smith, 101, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Hawthorne Inn of Danville.
She was born Oct. 21, 1911, to Lewis and Mabel (Wright) Turner in Henning.
She married Eugene Smith, who precedes her in death.
Rachel is survived by two nephews, Max Turner and William Matthews, and a cousin, Virginia Davis.
As per Rachel’s wishes, a graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Mann’s Chapel Cemetery in Alvin. Pastor Randall Robinson of St. James United Methodist will officiate.
Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
