Marjorie P. Moorhous

DANVILLE — Marjorie P. Moorhous, 90, of Danville, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton.

She was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Perrysville, Ind., to Edgar T. and Matilda Wyer Trimble.

She married Delbert W. Moorhous on Aug. 31, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Surviving is a daughter, Linda S. (Dan) Peoples of North Carolina; several nieces; a nephew; and special friends, Doris Finley and Donna Dill.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Janice; two sisters; and three brothers.

Marge had worked previously as a sales clerk at Meis Brothers, Danville Public Library and City Hall. She was a long-time member of First Church of Christ and then Cornerstone Church of Christ in Danville.

Marge also enjoyed giving her time volunteering at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, hospice and Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.

A service to celebrate the life of Marjorie Moorhous will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Pastor Kevin Cox will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday prior to the service, also at Sunset. Memorials may be made to the Illini Children’s Home, or Cornerstone Christian Church.
