DANVILLE — Thomas Glen Cox Sr., 77, of Danville, died at 6:07 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, in Danville.

Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Ted Pracz officiating. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, with a Parish Wake Service at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville. Memorials: Holy Family Catholic Church, 444 E. Main, Danville, IL 61832. Burial: Sunset Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 210.

Tom was born Nov. 9, 1935, in Danville, to Franklin Joseph and Evelyn Georgina Jackson Cox.

He attended Fairchild Grade School and graduated from Schlarman High School in 1953. He had served with the Air Force.

He started working at TeePak in the process department in 1964 and retired in the warehouse department in 2003.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and American Legion Post 210. He enjoyed genealogy and collecting toys. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tom married Sally Marie Lappin on May 12, 1955, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Regina (Terry) Sherman, Katherine Cox and Thomas (Jewell) Cox Jr.; four grandchildren, Katrina (Greg) Sims, Kathleen (Jeff) Miller, Daniel Cox and Ashley (Lee) Sherwood; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Sherman; and a sister: Joanne (Daniel) Carpenter. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Larry Joseph Cox.
