William V. Lattrell

WESTVILLE — William V. Lattrell, 78, of Westville, passed away at noon Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

William was born Aug. 4, 1934, in Keeseville, N.Y., to William and Catherine Laval-ette Lattrell.

He married Anna C. Broderick on May 12, 1956, at St. Patrick’s in Danville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, William J. Lattrell of Westville, and Robert Tabor of Danville; one daughter, Juli A. Dean of Westville; special son-in-law, Noel T. Dean; two brothers, Alfred “Skip” (Margaret) Lattrell of Raritan, N.J., and Robert (Joanne) Lattrell of Keeseville, N.Y.; three sisters, Janice (John) Cooley and Loretta Rose, of Wilmington, N.C., and Joan (Richard) Wood, of Keeseville, N.Y.; three grandchildren, John (Heather) Tabor of Marshall, Amy (Jason) Moore of Williamsport, Ind., and Dawson Dean of Westville; three great-grandchildren, Emma and Anna Moore of Williamsport, Ind., and Megan Tabor of Marshall; special sisters-in-law, Maureen Lattrell and Julie Lattrell of Keeseville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John “Jack” and Edwin “Bucky” Lattrell.

William joined the Air Force in Dec. 28, 1951, retiring Dec. 11, 1955. He was a self-employed contractor for Town and Country Construction. William was recognized as an expert carpenter, having designed and built many homes throughout Vermilion County. He loved the Boston Celtics and Illinois basketball and fishing in the mountains of New York.

Private graveside rites will be at the National Cemetery, Danville, with military honors provided by the Westville American Legion. Robison Chapel, Catlin, is in charge of the arrangements.
