Charlotte “Kay” Quick Greer

DANVILLE — Charlotte “Kay” Quick Greer, 85, of Danville, passed away at 2:03 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Danville, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Kathryn (Kirn) Quick.

She married Royce Greer on Nov. 25, 1945, in Oakwood.

Survivors include her husband, Royce, and their two daughters, Kathryn Denise (husband, Randy) Germann of Ozone, Ark., and Gina Marie (husband, Neil) Cossey of Franklin, Tenn. Her five grandchildren, Beau (Jodi) Germann of Danville, Brett (wife, Misty) Germann of Danville, Lance (wife, Tamra) Cossey of Birmingham, Ala., Douglas Cossey and Derek Cossey, both of Franklin, Tenn., also survive her. Charlotte is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Ambria Kay Germann of Danville; one brother, Gene Lewis (wife, Delores) Quick of Danville; and one sister, Kitty Marie Montgomery of Danville.

Her parents preceded Charlotte in death.

She was a member of the South Side Church of Christ in Danville. She enjoyed making quilts and afghans for each of her grandchildren throughout the years. She also enjoyed collecting china, exploring her “family tree” through genealogy and making homemade Christmas decorations with her husband, Royce. She loved her family dearly as they loved her and will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Charlotte “Kay” Greer’s life has been scheduled for noon Saturday, Feb. 18, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, with entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Pastor Kevin Zeigler has been asked by the family to officiate her service. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
