DANVILLE —
Eddie Robbins, 56, of Danville, passed away at 11:47 p.m. Jan. 30, 2013, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1956, in Danville, the son of Charles J. and Lillie M. (Holley) Robbins.
He was married to Charlotte Curry on Nov. 27, 1976, in Danville. She survives.
Surviving him are his mother, Lillie Robbins; one son, Michael (Marlane) Robbins of Danville; one sister, Patti Edwards of Danville; two grandchildren, Whitney and Truxton Robbins; step father-in-law, Charles Kyger; one sister-in-law, Kim (Chris) Yocum of Danville, and her daughter, Sierra Pollard; nephew, Josh Edwards, and his son, Zac Edwards of Lebanon, Ind.; nephew, Jeremy (Heather) Edwards, and their children, Benjamin and Meia Edwards of Oswego; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind good friend Johnny Sanks and family and also his two dogs, Rufus and Lady.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Holly Robbins; grandparents; brother-in-law, Rex Edwards; in-laws, Cash (Rita) Curry; and several aunts and uncles.
Eddie worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Bowman Gas Station, Peterson Puritan, Continental Filling and 26 years at Danville District 118.
He loved fishing, hunting, watching TV, playing pranks on co-workers, being with family and friends and being alone. He never enjoyed talking on the phone. He enjoyed being with his grandkids, nieces and nephews, and he always had hunting dogs.
He was a member of the Wabash Valley Bass Club, Fairmount Conservation Club and was a lifetime member of B.A.S.S.
He always said he was born at the wrong time. He wished he was born in the late 1800s or early 1900s because he enjoyed living off the land that God gave us to hunt and fish from.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 5, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville, with Jay Sorrell and Ed Butler officiating.
