Carl “Casey” Phillip Stengel, 76, of Potomac, passed away at 2:54 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
Casey was born Sept. 17, 1936, in rural Garyton, Ind., the son of George P. and Marie Elizabeth (Jacobs) Stengel.
He is survived by nieces, Tammy Legros of Tilton, Linda White of Montezuma, Ind., and Kathy Spires of Danville; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry Stengel; and two sisters, Dora Spires and Ellen Knight.
Casey was a jack of all trades and enjoyed helping others. He worked all over Potomac mowing yards and helping people. He enjoyed riding his bike, woodworking and drinking coffee with his friends.
A celebration of Casey’s life will begin at noon Monday, Nov. 19, at Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac, with Pastor Sally Swaim officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Potomac Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
