Dale Leon Richardson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Dale Leon Richardson, 79, of Jacksonville Fla., formerly of Danville, Ill., and Kingman, Ind., passed away Nov. 17, 2012, in Jacksonville.

Private services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21. A celebration of life service for friends and family will be announced later.

Dale was born in Fountain County to Fred and Madeline Richardson on June 17, 1933. He went to school at Kingman.

He worked for Illinois Power until his move to Florida, where he went into business for himself. Dale’s passion was auto racing. During his life, he successfully drove both sprint cars and stock cars. He won many races and built many friendships, as well as cars. Today, his youngest son, Steve, remains involved in racing through his business, Richardson Racing Products, and a grandson, Corey Richardson is employed by NASCAR.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents and his youngest daughter, Tracy Richardson Coburn.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marceline Ferguson Richardson, and their children, Jeffrey Dale Richardson, Steven Wayne (Jeri Ferber) Richardson, Monica (Shirlee Miller) Richardson and his son-in-law, Christopher Coburn.

He was fortunate to enjoy eight grandchildren, Melissa Richardson (Dan) Timmons, Corey (Tricia) Richardson, Amanda Jo Richardson Moody, Jennifer Coburn, Christopher Coburn, Jacob Richardson, Jackie Kasztelan, Jessica Kasztelan, and his nine great-grandchildren, Nathan Moody, Mary Grace Timmons, Julianne Timmons, Jude Timmons, Carlie Richardson, Callie Richardson, Cayden Richardson, Brighton Phillips and Blake Phillips.
