MILFORD —
The Bismarck-Henning boys basketball team had a big scare on Friday as they were able to defeat Milford 55-52 in Vermilion Valley Conference action to stay undefeated in conference play.
The Blue Devils took the early 23-15 lead after the first quarter and a 35-26 halftime lead, but in the fourth the Bearcats made their move.
Milford outscored Bis-Henn 17-9 in the fourth and could have taken the lead but a 3-pointer by Jordan Gullquist rimmed out and the Blue Devils hit some late free-throws to preserve the win.
Austin Toler had 18 points for Bis-Henn while Wilde Garowski had 15 and Chase Connelly added right.
Jeff Cann had a game-high 21 points for Milford while Josh Killion had 16 points and Alex Portwood added seven.
The Blue Devils will travel to Catlin on Tuesday to play Salt Fork while the Bearcats will have their final home game of the season tonight against Iroquois West.

HOOPESTON — Austin Calhoun had 20 points as the Hilltoppers jumped out to a big lead over the Cornjerkers and kept it .
Chris Kuchefski had 12 points for Schlarman, who had a 45-12 halftime lead, while Michael Simmons had 11 and Andrew Kelley added eight.
Mason Layden had 15 for Hoopeston Area, while Daniel Lawson had five and Bryce Leigh added five.
The Hilltoppers will play Milford on Tuesday while the Cornjerkers will play Armstrong-Potomac on Tuesday.

FITHIAN — Jeffery Thompson and Kyle Brazas each had 15 points as the Tigers cruised past the Comets.
Jordan Romo had 12 points for Westville, who had a 16-6 first quarter lead and it grew to a 47-29 lead after the third quarter, while Layn White had 11 and Tanner Cox added nine.
Parker Lee had 12 for Oakwood, while Kyle Elliott had 11 and Cameron Cawley added six.
The Tigers will play Chrisman on Tuesday while the Comets will take on Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Tuesday.

GEORGETOWN — Kyle Coburn had 22 points as the Buffaloes more than doubled up the Trojans.
Dylan Bina had 10 points for Georgetown-Ridge Farm while Aaron Scott added nine.
Shawn Johnson led Armstrong-Potomac with 15 points while Wade Rogers and Dentler Loschen each had five.
