WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A pair of Danville High School boys indoor track records fell on Thursday night at the West Lafayette Relays.
Senior Cameron Ford, a state placewinner in the discus a year ago, etched his name into the school’s record books for the shot put with a toss of 55 feet, 8½ inches. Ford broke the previous record by eight inches.
The other record that fell on Thursday night at Purdue’s indoor track was the 800-meter relay mark of 1 minute, 32.2 seconds set back in 1983.
The team of Anthony Bacoat, Solomon Crenshaw, TaJuan Jackson and MykeTez Forman established a new mark of 1:30.91 on Thursday night.
In addition to the two records, the Vikings also got first-place finishes from David Groves in the 55 hurdles (7.93) and Crenshaw in the long jump (22-4¾). Crenshaw was also second in the 55 dash (6.56), while Bacoat was fourth (6.62).
Tonight, Danville High is hosting the Big 12 Conference girls indoor track meet starting at 4:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Vikings will host the Danville Open beginning at 11 a.m.

DACC players earn
region, conference honors
DANVILLE — Jaguars sophomore Tim Toler was recently named the All-Region 24 team and first team all-conference in the Mid-West Athletic Conference.
Toler averaged 15.6 points and 8.6 rebounds this year for DACC and his 944 career points and 486 career rebounds are both top five in school history.
Joining Toler on the all-region team was sophomore David Smith, who was also a second team all-conference selection. Smith averaged 16.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while only playing the second half of the season.
Also being honored with a third-team selection on the all-conference team was sophomore Derwin Gage, who averaged 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds a game.

Jaguars postponed
by rain in South Carolina
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Thursday’s scheduled game between Danville Area Community College and Monroe College of Rochester, N.Y., lasted just one inning.
Rains forced the game to be postponed until today at 3 p.m. DACC will play Westmoreland Community College of Pennsylvania in a regularly scheduled game at 9 a.m. this morning.
