BROADLANDS — Britny Hoag had 18 points as the Salt Fork girls basketball team advanced to semifinal action Monday with a 45-25 win over Villa Grove in a Class A regional at Heritage High School.
Maddi Stutsman had 13 points for Salt Fork, who held Villa Grove to seven points in the second half, while Megan McCord added eight.
With the win, the Storm will face Vermilion Valley Conference rival Chrisman on Wednesday in the semifinals.

SHELDON — Ali Burkowski and Mariah Skaggs each had eight points, but the Hilltoppers were outscores 26-16 in the second half to fall to Iroquois West.
Jennifer Ames had seven for Schlarman and Ella Black added five.
The Hilltoppers end their season at 2-26.

SHELDON — Ashlyn Nickle had 11 points and Chelsie Davis had 10, but the Tigers dropped an early 11-9 lead to lose to Buckley Christ Lutheran, who got its first regional win in program history.
Taylor Ceader had nine points for Westville, who ends the season at 4-25.

CHAMPAIGN — Maggie Bartley had 17 points, but it was not enough as the Cornjerkers lost to Urbana University High at St. Thomas More High School.
Brooke Kinney had Keri Kaag each had six points for Hoopeston Area, who was down 16-8 after the first and 31-13 at halftime.
The Cornjerkers end the season 8-21.

GIBSON CITY — Kara Carter and Kourtney Newell each scored 10 for the Trojans but could not overcome a 17-8 first quarter deficit as they lost to Judah Christian.
Brooke Markwalder and Jessica Asbury each had six and Sarah Reardon had four for Armstrong-Potomac, which ends the season at 13-17.

CAYUGA, Ind. — Anthony Drake won two events as the Hilltoppers’ depth was too much for the Falcons to handle.
Drake won the 100 yard butterfly (1 minute, 13.28 seconds) and the 200 freestyle (2:11.01) for Schlarman while Frank Rademacher won the 100 freestyle (1:03.29) and Stephen Schleet took the 500 freestyle (7:11.63).
Schlarman also swept the relay events, taking the 200 medley (2:10.71), 200 freestyle (1:51.35) and 400 freestyle (4:11.87) races.
Even with the loss, the Falcons did have some highlights with four first-place finishes.
Tyler Scott won two events, taking the 100 breastroke with a lifetime-best 1:16.42 and the 50 freestyle (26.79), Jonathon Strubinger won the 200 individual medley (2:47.49) and Cole Julick won in diving (212.10).
Correction
In Sunday’s Commercial-News, Oakwood freshman Ashton Haton took second at 103 pounds in a IHSA Class 1A wrestling regional at Toledo Cumberland High School. Haton will join his teammates in sectional action on Saturday at Robinson.
