CHAMPAIGN — With a tough defense and inside play from Jenna Smith and Karisma Penn, the Illinois women’s basketball team won its third straight game on Sunday with a 67-45 victory over Bradley at the Assembly Hall.
Penn scored 21 points and Smith had her fourth double-double in four games with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Illinois used an early 12-0 run to take a 15-6 lead in the first half and cruised from there, holding Bradley to 25 percent shooting.
Lacey Simpson had 12 points and three steals and Fabiola Josil had eight points and three steals.
The Illini are 3-1 and will face Illinois State on Tuesday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Attica graduate Brittany Rayburn had eight points, but the Boilermakers lost their second straight game.
Samantha Woods led Purdue with 16 points and two blocks and KK Houser had six points.

DANVILLE — Justin Maurizi and Logan Boehm scored goals for the Inferno, but it was not enough as they were swept for the weekend at the David S. Palmer Arena.
Ray Kizzie and Elliott Holstrom each had assists for Danville, who lost 17-5 on Saturday to the Mountain Cats.
Mitchell Saviola had 18 saves and Williams Johnson had 55 saves in goal for the Inferno, who are 0-23 and will start a weekend series on Dec. 4 against Illinois.
