DANVILLE —
Kirk Golden found the right time to score his first goal as a Danville Dasher on Sunday, scoring with 40 seconds left in overtime as the Dashers beat the 1,000 Islands Privateers at the David S. Palmer Arena.
After 1,000 Islands took a 1-0 lead after the first period, Kevin McCready scored two goals in under a minute in the second to give Danville a 2-1 lead. Joe Pace would add to the lead with his first goal of the season to make it 3-1.
But the Privateers scored a goal later in the second and would tie things up to set up overtime.
The Dashers start playoff play on Friday when they will play the Dayton Demonz at 6:35 p.m. in the first game of their series with the third game at the Palmer Arena on March 8.
