CHAMPAIGN —
Alexus Jimson-Miller won two events and set a school record in the 60 meter high hurdles as the Danville High School girls track team took second at the Gene Armer Invitational on Saturday.
Jimson-Miller had a time of 8.64 seconds to break the record and win the hurdles event and also won the 400 meter dash in 59.39.
Ambrosia Williams broke her own record in the pole vault, taking sixth in the event with a height of 9 feet, six inches.
Emone Davis was seventh in the 60 dash with a time of 8.11.
Jimson-Miller was also part of the 800 relay team, which set a school record and won the event with a time of 1:44.68 and the 3,200 teal, which took second with a time of 4:05.93.
The boys team ended up seventh in the meet, with Johnny Leverenz taking second in the 1,600 run (4:24.19) and Caleb Hummer taking third in the 3,200 (9:48.11).
Aaron Hardimon was fourth in the shot put (46-9) while Trent Sherfield was fifth in the triple jump (42-5½), Martez Davis was sixth in the high jump (5-10) and Chris Collier was eighth in the pole vault (11-6)
