The Danville Dashers’ game with the Federal Hockey-leading Dayton Demonz started off as well as Sunday’s game ended.
Danville, coming off a 7-5 win over Dayton on Sunday, started Monday off with a goal by Jonathan Juliano in the first period.
But the Demonz would fight back to take the lead in the second and go on to a 3-1 victory at the David S. Palmer Arena.
Ryan Stern and Ryan Huggett had assists on Juliano’s power-play goal while Peter Dundovich had 44 saves in goal for the Dashers, who will go back to Dayton on Friday.

CHAMPAIGN — Karisma Penn had 26 points, 14 rebounds and three steals as the Illini got past the Badgers in Big Ten action.
Adrienne GodBold had 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals for Illinois, who was up 31-22 at halftime, while Taylor Tick got off the bench with seven points and Alexis Smith had six points.
The Illini are 15-9 and 8-4 in the Big Ten and will play conference leader No. 7 ranked Penn State on Wednesday.
