COVINGTON, Ind. —
After picking up its first win of the season on Friday, it did not take long for the Covington boys basketball team to win its second game.
Down 16-10 after the first quarter, the Trojans outscored Benton Central 41-16 in the second and third quarter to get a 67-51 win in non-conference action on Saturday.
Alex Frechette had 23 points, 15 rebounds and three assists for Covington, while Chandler Spring had 15 points, Jordan Ahrens had 11 points, five assists and eight rebounds, James Foley had eight points and Craig Root added six.
The Trojans will travel to Turkey Run on Friday.

WOLCOTT, Ind. — Jordan Stover had 19 points and six rebounds as the Patriots jumped out to a 18-8 lead after the first quarter and did not look back against Tri-County.
Issac Foxen and Zach Stitt each had nine points for Seeger while Nathan DeVillez added four.
The Patriots are 5-0 and will play Faith Christian on Friday.

BLOOMINGTON — Jon Delzell won the 50 freestyle (22.95 seconds) and the 100 backstroke *(1:02.28) but the Vikings lost to Bloomington in a dual meet.
Lucas Miller was second in the 100 butterfly for Danville (1:06.48) while Tristan Wolfe was second in the 100 freestyle (54.65), Parker Arnholt was second in the 500 freestyle (6:03.08), Logan McBee was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:14) and Jordan Ledesma was second in diving (143.64).
The 200 medley team of Wolfe, Miller, Delzell and Max Shannon was second (1:51) while the 200 freestyle team of Wolfe, Shannon, Miller and Ledesma also took a second plaqce finish (1:43).
The Vikings will host Champaign Central on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Seeger wins Invitational
FRANKFORT, Ind. — The Patriots had three wrestlers go 5-o for the day as they won the Clinton Prairie Invitational with a 5-0 mark.
Caleb Hanthorne (120 pounds), Jamie Stump (126) and Jordan Horath (152) were 5-0 for Seeger while, Quentin Johnston (113), Levi Farrell (132), Jack Kay (170), Chance Billingsley (195) and Frank Briddick (285) each went 4-1 for the day.
The Patriots are 8-3 and will face Benton Central on Tuesday and host the Seeger Invitational on Saturday.
Bis-Henn loses three in quadrangular
CLIFTON — The Blue Devils went against some tough competition in a quadrangular meet at Clifton Central, losing 75-5 to the host team, 63-3 to Rich East and 54-18 to Manteno.
Tyler Pasley won two matches at 145 for Bismarck-Henning while Jared Noel won two at 182 while Jesse Jennings won one at 285.
The Blue Devils will try to regroup on Dec. 18 when they face Westville.
COLLEGE SOFTBALL
DACC to hold winter camp
DANVILLE — The Danville Area Community College softball team will have a winter camp on Saturday and Dec. 16 at Mary Miller Gym.
Saturday’s camp will be for kids kindergarten through eighth grade with fundamentals camp from 8-9:30 a.m. and hitting camp from 10-11:30 a.m.
Both camps are $20 each but $35 if a camper attends both.
The Dec. 16 camp will be for players grades 7th-12th grades and it will be $35 for a fundamentals and hitting camp which will run from noon-3:30 p.m.
Also there will be a pitching camp that is $30 and will run for one-hour sessions from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on both days. The camp is limited for four players per one-hour session and pitchers must supply their own catcher and pre-register to secure a time slot.
DACC coach Randy Skaggs is the camp director and there will be special instruction from DACC hitting coach Steve Willis, East Central Illinois Dynamite softball coach Greg Hall, pitching instructor George Jones and St. Louis Espirit coach Jim Corby.
Registration will start 30 minutes before each session by campers will get a free softball t-shirt with pre-registration by Tuesday.
Participants will bring their own softball gear, including a bat, batting gloves, glove, tennis shoes and practice clothes.

DANVILLE — The Dashers had a 2-1 lead after the first period, but the Demonz scored two goals in the second to take the lead for good.
Ryan Stern and Shawn McNulty had the goals for Danville in the first while Darick Ste Marie had two goals in the third.
McNulty also had two assists and Todd McIlrath had one while Kyle McClure had 31 saves and Josselin St. Pierre had 11 in goal.
The Dashers will face Dayton again on Thursday.
