The Chrisman boys basketball team is starting to come up at the right time.
After defeating then No. 5 in Class 1 A Salt Fork last week, the Cardinals rallied late to defeat Class 2A No. 10 ranked Westville 43-42 on Tuesday in Vermilion Valley Conference action.
Chris Hoult had 21 points for Chrisman, who was down all game before taking the lead with just over a minute left.
“We are playing our best basketball of the season and we are just playing harder,” Chrisman coach Greg Gissinger said. “Westville is a good team and put us off for most of the game, but we just fought hard.”
Layn White and Robert Elliott each had 10 for Westville, who was without Jeffery Thompson.
The Cardinals are 15-11 and will face Georgetown-Ridge Farm while the Tigers will travel to Salt Fork on Friday.

DANVILLE — Schlarman Academy’s Andrew Kelley and Austin Calhoun made their Senior Night one to remember as they combined for 38 points as the Hilltoppers won over Milford.
Kelley had 21 while Calhoun had 17 for Schlarman, who was up 30-28 at halftime but outscored Milford 34-22 in the second half. Michael Simmons and Chris Kuchefski each had 10 for the Hilltoppers and the only other senior, Maher Samawi, added two.
Jeff Cann had 18 to lead the Bearcats while Alex Portwood had 13 and Jacob Rogers added eight.
The Hilltoppers will play Oakwood on Friday while Milford will play Hoopeston Area on Friday.

GEORGETOWN — Kyle Coburn had 24 points in his final home game as the Buffaloes defeated the Comets.
Dylan Bina had 16 points for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, who was down 22-15, but scored 29 points in the fourth quarter, while Tyson Reed added eight.
Parker Lee and Kyle Elliott each had 17 for Oakwood, while Andrew Curley had eight.
The Buffaloes will travel to Chrisman on Friday.

ARMSTRONG — Wade Rogers had 19 points as the Trojans won their first game of the season.
Shawn Johnson had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Armstrong-Potomac, who pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 15-5 run, while Dentler Loschen had 10 points.
Mason Layden had nine points for Hoopeston Area, while Brennan Crose had eight and Joe Warner added seven.
The Trojans will travel to Bismarck-Henning on Friday.

WASHINGTON — Jonathan Garver had 18 points as the Knights defeated Illinois Central.
Jermaine Brooks had 12 points for First Baptist while Zane Bumpus and John Martin each had six and Michael Young added five.
The Knights are 15-6 and start regional play on Friday.
