DECATUR —
The Danville Area Community College men’s basketball team celebrated their jump to No. 7 in the NJCAA Division II poll with a 88-55 win over the Millikin University junior varsity team on Wednesday.
Evan Blackmon had 19 for the Jaguars, who had a 14-4 lead to start the game, while Mike Ryce had 15. The Jaguars shot 52 percent from the field and held Millikin to 23 percent.
“This was a good opportunity for us to work on some things before our final four conference games,” DACC coach Mike Carpenter said. ‘We’ll need a great defensive effort on Saturday against a very good-shooting ICC team.”
The Jaguars are 23-3 after getting their 12th straight win and will host Illinois Central College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
